Turned off ignition while stuck in traffic, dash lights on in p1 but nothing in ignition(1`st instance was 1/2 turn of starter then dead with a tick sound from beneath dash) central locking going crazy(took many many attempts to lock the car)also hazards make dash lights flash/tick 100 times a second.. battery good judging by headlights etc.. not even a ticking so not starter motor.. possibly ignition switch?(i hope) but maybe more.. any help?

yes could be ignition switch but check main body to engine earth lead first
