Vauxhall Astra whining/screeching noise.

Phone Vauxhall customer services .If it was normal / charactaristic fault , why did they fix it in the first place ? Sounds rubbish , no engine should whine or screech for no reason .

Have a sim problem.
Is the noise intermittent?
Is it happening as you are changing gear?
Have you noticed it happening when the car is at idle?
My 2010 Astra 1.7 diesel has had.
New fuel lines.
New gear box.
New turbo & inter cooler.
And it still has the horrible noise.
After all this and the problem still being there.
Vauxhall say "it's standard engine noise"
Well I didn't agree. So had independent inspection done.
Cost £200 but they have confirmed that the noise is there and is unacceptable.
As "standard engine noise"
Report has been sent to dealer who has forwarded it on to Vauxhall.
I am waiting for a reply to my question as to do they want to rethink there beliefs.
Will see.
If not its off to court we go.

I don't have an answer I'm affraid but have the same problem I also went to main dealer who said they couldn't find anything although I must admit at this time the fault was more intermittent subsequently it is all the time. One thing I did notice though is I went on holiday recently and didn't use the car for a week when I started using it again the noise wasn't there at all for several days then it came back same again intermittent now all the time does this give any clues as to the cause? As previously said it is definitly not a acceptable noise. what when I sell the car people will not buy because of noise, then what I have e newish relative expensive car I can't sell - Any other suggetions
