2005 Vauxhall Astra wont start

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.6 sxi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I'm looking for some help with my Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXI 2005. About 6 months ago I had problems with it starting, where you would turn the key an literally nothing would happen. If you then locked the doors and unlocked, the car would start as normal.

I took the car to the garage who put on machine and said was engine management system, which was replaced.

Its not been six months since this happened an the problem has started again this week. key in ignition an nothing. lock the door and unlock , starts as normal.

I would be most grateful for any help anyone can offer before I take to a garage again.
thank you

That car used to suffer from ignition switch problems . You could try wiggling the key in the ignition lock when it happens or just remove and refit key and see if it starts then .
