2004 Vauxhall Astra engine warning light comes on + steering is affected but not all the time

when im driving the steering goes as if I have two flat tyres on the front. but then goes back to normal as quick as it goes off and engine warning light comes on but doesn't stay on

Sounds like your electric steering motor is cutting out this could be down to an alternator fault ,best getting codes checked and take it from there

have codes read as could be as simple as a speed sensor electric steering needs a speed input and will switch off without

had this problem with a corsa and found the battery was at fault due to not holding a full charge changed it and was fine after.
