Timing belt question.

im collecting my new car this saturday. its done 36000 on a 02 reg. everything is perfect with it. i just wanted to ask when the timing belt needs doing as there are so many people out there saying different things. so i want to know what mileage or hw many years it needs changed.

Check on the service history if you have one, if not its always a good idea to change it now then your mind is at rest, then check with dealers when to replace it next time. if the price difference is not too much, use the original belt from dealers then you know exactly how long it will last.

check you cars manuel it will give you a recomended millage for a cam belt change personaly i like to change around 60-70000 miles its a big exspense if it breaks

If it has not yet had a belt at 10 years old it needs changing, disregard the mileage as the age is now more relevant
