the oil light flashes when going round bends or braking. oil level is correct. also the tappets are pinking and car is noisy idling

would suggest trying some engine flush then changing the oil and filter using a recomended oil(check hand book) also changing oil pressure switch these astra,s are prone for the oil ways between the sump and head becomming blocked with carbon like deposits if you still have probs after this it may be a oil pump prob

the oil pickup in the sump may be blocked it looks just like a small sieve but you will have to take the sump off to check it
