2000 Vauxhall Astra no accelaration

engine starts ok and idles any movement of the accelerator pedel does nothing its like the accelerator cable has broken but of course this cas has not got one any ideas before i scrap it

diagnostic equipment can look at the sensor for the pedel and see if there is an output. you can check with a multimeter but diag kit makes it simple, also if there is a further problem eg fuel pressure the ecu stops the pedel sensor from working
