2004 Vauxhall Astra car wants to stall, lights dim at same time

Hi, wondering if anyone can help, I have an Vauxhall Astra 1.6 sxi twinport on a 53 plate. The problen happened the other day when the car was at a set of traffic lights. The car was at idle and It seemed asif the car wanted to stall, but then recoverd. at the same time the dashboard lights went dim. Ive noticed this happens every so often when the cars at idle. However when driving, the car runs perfect with no problem and starts first time every time. I would be so grateful if anyone had any ideas. Thanks
