2006 Vauxhall Astra starting problems

Car will not start at random periods . Could run for weeks no problems, then will turn over but not fire. AA have attended several times and car has been flooded. Will flood with one turn of key sometimes.Other times car is not flooded but same symptoms. Seems that sometimes it is getting too much fuel and other times not enough fuel.Car will not start again until either towed or pushed. Drying out plugs etc does no good. This has gone on for about a year. I have had car into garage several times and they cannot find any faults. Any ideas ?
