1995 Vauxhall Astra wont rev??

please help?!
my friend drives a 95 astra 8valve now its only after passin its MOT and it was 100 percent until she filled it with petrol.
Since then the car will start an quite happily idle for hours not overheating fan cuttin in an out petrol goin into the throttle body... BUT.. If you touch the throttle at all it goes to die infact even driving it is near impossible it starts humping and jumping and spluttering but it will sit there an idle??? Can someone please please help as she needs the car an i dont want to write it off jus yet :-(

also meant to say in my original post that i have checked all air intake pipes an i have checked plugs etc from what i can make out from various sources is that its either something to do with petrol pump or a sensor however all theses problems are for astra g which i think are 16valve an not the same someone also suggested crankshaft sensor but does this model have one? My friend does not have much money so her funds wont let me go mad changing bits and pieces :-D
