Vauxhall Astra steering

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.7CDTi
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Recently my steering has started shaking intermittently, have checked my tyre pressures and they're fine, don't think my wheels need balancing as it's happening at various speeds - yesterday at 40MPH. also getting an intermittent clunking noise on the wheels if i drive over any bumps. its done 124K miles and i motorway drive so am feeling very nervous driving. Any ideas what's wrong? i'm a female so get very intimidated going to a garage!

Could be several things, but maybe ball joints or bushes, either way you need to get it checked out. Go to at least 2 garages and see what they say and if need be, go to a couple more. Don`t let them intimidate you------YOU are the customer.

yes as stated, try and go by a recommendation aswel, ie independant garages and steer clear of fast fits.
