2001 Vauxhall Astra windsreen wipers

When on the intermitant setting the wipers stop mid screen, sometimes stop at top of screen. This has been a problem since i stupidly turned wipers on to clear deep snow the screen. Please help !!

if they work fine and clear the whole screen then new motor reqd

the wiper motor has a nylon worm gear inside and its likely some of the teeth have been damaged. this is why it will occasionally auto park in the right place when you help it along with your hand. its a new motor I'm afraid, the gear is not sold separately.
