1996 Vauxhall Astra main beam on and off

Hi Steven, This is the first time I have posted on this site. I just had to respond to your post as I also am having the same issue that when I drive my main beam is intermitantly swithing on and off. I have narrowed it down to a fault connected to the wipers, as the fault only presents when I have the wipers on. This is on any setting, though the faster the wipers the more the car does it. I have tested the fault whilst driving in dry conditions, though I must look a bit odd driving with my wipers on, the fault presents itself numerous times. I am in contact with Vauxhall also, to try and fix the fault. They have asked me to keep a diary of sorts to see what triggers the fault, I would suggest the same to you. And if possible see if its your wipers triggering the fault? I am going back to them after Xmas to see if they can fix the fault now I've identified its the wipers triggering the fault. I hope this goes someway to helping you identifying whats causing your issue also. I'll let you know more if I get a definate answer back from Vauxhall, and a solution if Vauxhall tell me what exactly to replace/fix
