2004 Vauxhall Astra reving out @ 3250

the problem is that the car is revving out (wont rev any higher) @ 3250 rpm. the car has recently had a second hand gearbox fitted and although i cannot see any relevance, there may be some.

Modern diesels live or die on fuel quality,so,when was your fuel filter last changed.
And that's all folks! with out some more detail,like how old is it?
post 04 and any diagnostic equipment should pull fault codes,pre 04 it's down to the dealer or a really well equiped garage.
Get it code read.or renew all the filters,then work your way up the expense trail.....
