2000 Vauxhall Astra drives in first, second and third but won't changeto fourth

it drives in 1st 2nd and 3rd but won't change to 4th and engine management light comes on around 30mph any ideas, i've has the oil change still the same problem

Need to get it scanned and see what faults are shown,
