i noticed a leak from the front of the car, it appears to be coolant because the resevoir bottle is empty. the leak is not obvious as it is now dry, so i am not sure where the leak is. should i fill the bottle up with tap water and recheck for leaks or will this only cause more damage?

TAP WATER FINE UNTIL WINTER IF LEAKING UNDER AUX BELTS THEN PROB WATER PUMPB
