Vauxhall Astra oil dip level

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: Club 1.6 8valve
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
I have 2002 Astra 1.6 club 8valve (90,000 mls) It uses oil at approx 1ml per mile but I have difficulty getting an accurate dip. After an oil change it seems to dip OK for a bit but does not take long before it shows a dip of full when I know that it will have used oil. e.g. after 750 miles would expect it to have used 750mls but dip will still show full. It used to dip OK which is why I know the oil usage rate to be consistent with above rate but now getting a 'true' believable dip is almost impossible. Any suggestions?

Honestly cant see how it would give wrong reading .It's just a dipstick into sump .Was a different grade / type of oil maybe used giving better mileage or maybe slightly overfilled ?
