my vauxhall astra bertone 1.8 constantly cuts out when i slow down,stop the car,and sometimes when i drop down the gears.its mainly when im slowing rite down,the revs just fall and the car cuts out.

ive worked at vauxhall in the parts department and the astras where common for egr valves playing up soget your self down to the nearest dealer to you and get one along with gasket should cost around £65

to prove egr is at fault try blocking off if problem goes replace if not it will save you the £65.otherwise try intake manifold cleaner on throttle flap.they also suffer from crank angle sensors.has engine management light been on if so codes will b stored that could help diagnose problem.
