My Astra 1.6 Clubman which keeps loosing power & the engine cuts out when the car slows. I have to keep the revs up to keep the engine going. Its fine for the first 1/2 mile.

Depending on if fitted on that year / model , could be coil pack .

if the engine is cutting out when you are slowing down it wil more than likely be the air holes bloked in your carburetor. i had same problem bought myself cab cleaner £5 an cleaned the cab an unblocked the holes been fine ever since :)
