2005 Vauxhall Astra slight judder on engaging reverse

When we engage reverse if it starts to creep it judders slightly. If it doesn't creep we have to apply acceleration and this sometimes throws the car back quickly is this normal

the judder might be that there isnt enough power from the engine to move the vehicle. if you apply gental acceleration it shouldnt shoot back.
