2007 Vauxhall Agila interior lights flickering when hatch open

The interior lights work fine with the regular door operation but flicker when the hatch back is open. I assume it might be a fault with the switch but I can't find where it is located. Nothing looks obvious to me.

Check the wiring at top where it enters the tailgate for possible damage
