2000 Skoda Fabia interior light

The interior light works when turning on with the switch on the light itself but will not come on by opening either door. There are not any door switches on any of the doors,between the door and bodywork that I have been familiar with on other makes of cars.

On most nowadays the switches are part of the door lock assembly,
