1999 Toyota Avensis plug lead failing after 6 weeks

Car: Toyota Avensis
Year: 1999
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Car was misfiring at low revs and the plugs and plug leads were changed. Everything ran smoothly for 6 weeks then the same fault reoccurred. Traced to a faulty plug lead. Replacing that plug lead solved the problem, but now again after 6 weeks, the misfire is back. Can something be causing new plug leads to fail?

Have you tested the lead to confirm it's faulty ? If so , could check dist cap .

If the plug lead is put into another identical car the problem transfers, so the lead is faulty.

If the lead is faulty after that short period , get it replaced under warranty .Are they genuine Toyota leads or a spurious make ?
