2000 Suzuki Baleno intermittant fault

The vehicle has an intermittent fault whereby it loses power and splutters!!! If you put the accelerator to the floor the car will continue at approx 10-15 mph. After a short period the exhaust will make a popping sound and the car reverts to normal. I have had a new fuel filter and also new plugs. Any suggestions on what this could be.

Many possible causes , but probably best to get a diagnostic scan and see what shows otherwise you will just be guessing / trying different parts .
