2019 Ssangyong Musso radio volume freezes when plugged into android auto

Android Auto does not work on this model. We have4 of these cars and they all have the same problem - works fine with Apple Car Play but not with Android Auto and regardless of what Android phone is used. All updates possible have been done - still doesn't work. Ssangyong tried to blame the phones but we have tried multiple phones (even the service managers phone and other mechanics phones and they don't work). Once the volume freezes, you cannot hear the caller. But when the call is finished the radio is on full noise and the only way to stop it is to pull out the USB connection. SsangYong continue to sell the cars claiming they are Android Auto compatible - this is not true.
