2015 Ssangyong Korando when starting if i put it reverse it slams i to reverse and going in drive very lethargic

On starting the car if I put in reverse it slams into reverse like its jumping into gear and if dri is selected it's very lethargic and not responsive.

Check / change transmission fluid ( whether manual or automatic ) would be first thing to carry out before getting too involved
