2012 Seat Ibiza 1.4tsi cupra
Car: Seat Ibiza
Year: 2012
Variant: 1.4tsi cupra
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
Was driving as normal, pulling well in all gears. Then when i stopped at traffic lights it wouldnt pull off and was creaping really slow. Some gears wont engage and really slow in semi automatic mode. Could it be clutch or god forbid the gearbox?

Could be either and usually expensive .You will need to get it scanned with suitable equipment like Vagcom software to check fault codes

Ahhh, ok. Also 3rd and 5th gears not engaging properly if at all. Was told it could be the mineral oil needs topping up in gearbox ? as there is a small oil patch on floor , about 4" diameter ?.

Could well be , worth checking . An oil leak will often be far worse when diving and under pressure . Hope it just needs topping up and the cause of the leak is not too serious .

Having it checked by an automatic gearbox specialist tomorrow. Heard it could be 1 of the clutches gone. So get it fixed and sell it i think. Thanks for the feedback.

That box can be a nightmare . Make sure the automatic gearbox specialist is certified / accredited as there are a lot of cowboys about who say they are " specialists " Oil leak is another issue and wont usually be caused by a clutch pack worn .

Its the only place , apart from SEAT that would entertain this box tbh.
