They do suffer from instrument cluster faults with the soldered joints , which is common but cant say for certain if that is your fault . Could also check alternator charging rate under load with a meter

Try disconnecting wires at dimmer switch see if light goes out but as it is fed from side lights i dont think it will , as above reply i also think it will be instrument cluster , it could be just a poor connection at the cluster multi plug if not i would go for a dry joint on the printed circuit.
