Auto window close from key fob is not working

2010 Seat Ibiza 2.0Tdi FR
Car: Seat Ibiza
Year: 2010
Variant: 2.0Tdi FR
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Normally if you get out of the car with the windows open, you can press and hold the lock button on the key fob and the car will lock and the electric windows will close (and the electric sunroof).
Also if you press and hold the unlock button, the car will unlock and the windows and sunroof will open.
I have just noticed that this does not work now.
I had a flat battery recently (after I left the car for ten days whole on holiday). I don't know if this has anything to do with it.
I cannot find any way of resetting the system. I have tried lowering the window and holding down for several seconds, then up and hold for several seconds but that didn't help.
I have also tried using the key in the door lock and turning it to lock for several seconds. Also to unlock for several seconds. Still didn't help.
I am not too worried about the loss of this function as I didn't use it often. I am more worried that it might be the start of electrical problems so I would like to get it sorted. (My fourth Ibiza, and they all had electrical problems of one sort or another.)

Tried this ?

Windows down:

1. Unlock the car (even if it's already unlocked).
2. Let go of all buttons.
3. Hold the unlock button down and the windows should start to go down.

Windows up:

1. Lock the car (even if it's already locked).
2. Let go of all buttons.
3. Hold the lock button down and the windows should start to go up.

The whole locking/unlocking and letting go first is the key.

Thanks for the quick answer.
I tried what you suggested with the windows up. Still not working.
I then decided to try it with the windows down so I opened all the windows.
When opening them, I found that the one touch operation was not working on one of the rear windows - I had to keep holding it to make it go down. So I reset it - close it and keep holding button for 5 seconds. Then the same while opening it. That reset the one touch opening and closing on that window.
I then tried the remote opening and closing and it is working again.
Great!
Thanks for your help.
