i loose power and have to stop and turn off engine .starts again with smoke coming from exgaust and it smells but then is ok for a while .yesterday the warning light did not go out .

So many possible causes and without more info hard to say . One example could be a partially blocked cat or exhaust .

thanks for your help,a few weeks ago i had new plugs and an oil change and filter,the problem only started after a day later
