Can anyone help, my car has decided it wont lock? When you insert the key its like it has nothing to grip onto to cause the car to lock?

On some cars, when the lock is forced, then it will cause the barrell to spin round. Think you may need to take the door card off to see if all the rods are connected as they should be. It maybe that one of the rods has been dislodged and not connected...
