the button on the automatic gear shift keeps jamming & i cant get it into drive etc

Some of these buttons can be lubricated with w.d. 40 if it,s just the button,But could be the shilft lock cable that is not working correctly,may req. adj.

thanks for that but i dont think the WD40 will help i think it is def a mechanical prob because the button will depress when the ignition is not on, but as soon as i turn the key it jams
