Wont turn over when the key is turned

1998 Rover 600 2.0ltr Diesel

The engine management light is on and i was wondering if that would stop the engine turning over when i try to start the car ,there is absolutely nothing at all happens can anybody help please

Check all fuses , some Rovers had a 150A "Mega" Fusible Link .

you need to get a diagnostic done to check fault codes,is the immobiliser light going off when you open car and switch on ignition?
