engine cut out will notstart new distributor fitted engine turns over willnotstart the car has been locked using the key and not the handset for 2years there are no problems with petrol getting to engine

does it have the honda engine or the rover K series?

are you getting any spark at all down the plug leads from the distributor

I know this sounds a daft question but if the car has stood for 2 years have you checked that the timing belt hasnt sheard when you turned it over.

Sorry miss read the bit about the key but still check that cam is turning when you crank the motor

sounds like the ignition module in the distributer,i have the 620 si and had the same problem years ago,changed the cap,rotor arm and the coil at the same time whilst i had the cap off.dont know about yours but my ecu has a self diagnosis fault reader that is simple to use
