2002 Rover 45 abs

Occasionally I hear a tapping noise which only ends when I touch the brake pedal. Sometimes on braking I feel the ABS activating even though the road is dry. Yesterday the ABS warning light came on for a short time and then cleared. The braking is normal.

check the abs codes with a scanner that will point you to the area to look.could be rotor on front drive shaft
