2000 Rover 45 loss of power when driving.

Car: Rover 45
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My car has a sudden loss of power when being driven, when i put my foot on the gas the revs just drop off, the car feels and sounds lumpy.
If i cut the engine then start back up everything is fine again.
This can be a danger on certain roads especially on a Motorway.
We have just changed the coil, thinking that maybe the problem. But now wish we never bought it.
