Injection Pump

1999 Rover 45
Car: Rover 45
Year: 1999
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I was driving my car on monday, when I suddenly lost all power. The car wouldn't kick in from turning the ignition. The agrage has subsequently told me that the fuel injection pump has gone. They said that for my particular model, it needs a programmed unit that would cost £600 plus labour, but a new one would be £1000 plus labour to fit. Can anyone offer any advice please as I'm desperate to either get the car back on the road or scrap it and buy another one. I need the car due to a two hour commute each day.

many thanks

Dave.

At that age of vehicle the repair cost is very near the value of the vehicle ,unless you can secure a reconditioned unit ,or if the vehicle is in particularly good order and warrants repair ,Possibly best cutting your losses and getting a better vehicle.some tough decision s to make .
