Dashboard lights on, but won't turn over.

2000 Rover 45 1.4
Car: Rover 45
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.4
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I just went to start my Rover 45 year 2000 & nothing happened. All the dashboard lights came on & the fuel pump ran, but when I turned the key to start there was nothing.
The dashboard lights dim very slightly, but the digital clock dims quite a lot. The solenoid clicked once, but after that, not a sound. The battery is showing 12.4 volts when I checked it. Have you got any ideas?

Two things to do

1 Tap your starter motor with a hammer

If that don't work.

2 Charge your battery from the mains

If that don't work your starter motor in broken.

Most of your cars power goes to the starter motor when starting the car.

Also get the battery load tested...
