2005 Renault Scenic handbrake wont release

hi the car starts ok but the handbrake wont release any ideas ty

1. does you car have an auto handbrake if so you can release it manualy instructions in your owners manual. (mechanism is in the spare wheel area indicated by yellow warning tags) or if you have std handbrake try moving backwards then forwards as brake shoe linings can detach and lock drums would be a/problem. more info on the model of your car and specific details of problem would be a big help here
