2002 Renault Scenic refuelling problems

When refuelling the car the pump clicks off as if the tank is full. Trying to get £20 in takes forever as the sensor keeps tripping the pump.
Any ideas? I have tried holding the nozzle at different angles, up down etc but nothing helps.

Could try holding it out the neck a bit .If not that , you will have to see if tank is venting o.k and no hoses blocked .
