INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER

2006 Renault Scenic 1.6 PETROL DYNAMIQUE VVT
Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 PETROL DYNAMIQUE VVT
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The symptoms are that when driving along, suddenly there is a lack of power(the engine never stalls)and as soon as I release the accelerator pedal and then reapply pressure the power is returned and everything is fine until the next time-- the problem occurs at all different speeds and in different gears--I have had the vehicle checked out using the genuine RENAULT CLIP diagnostic software and no "fault codes" have been recorded-I have also cleaned up the TDC sensor-GAZDEE61 reported a very similar problem on the 8-12-2010 and I wondered if he had resolved the problem albeit there is no solution posted.

Could be one of the notorious ignition coils breaking down intermittently causing this .

Did you get anywhere? I have a similar issue but more in waves of the problem repeating over and over one day and then being fine for a couple of hours...
