2003 Renault Scenic ignition coil problem

My son-in-law has a constant problem with an ignition coil (says AA man )..he keeps breaking down. |And its the sameo, sameo according to the AA..which fortunately they manage to fix everytime..now having broken down 4 times in last year i'd be pretty miffed..but my son-in-law says it's a common problem that just has to be put up with...surely not..i wouldn't put up with it ...anyone any advice for him ???

On that car coil / packs are a very common fault but if faulty parts have been replaced they should last a lot longer than that . Also any part replaced should be still under waranty .

they have a coil per plug so if he has changed 4 allready then they might not go for a while .some garages used to change all 4 in one go
