Not sure if this will help, However I have the same problem and after searching website came to the conclusion it will cost around £500 ~ £600 to repair !! Found the watchdog report and it guided me to Renault customer services. I dropped them a line and now have a booking at local Renault dealer where I have the promise that it will cost me £100 "providing" the fault is the same as many others have had. Will let you know how I get on. Car booked in Wed 16/02/11. Worth a try if you still have not sorted

Hi
Car went in today as planned and dash done for £100. Garage did call me to say they had found some issues in the health check, battery NG all cells, had no probs with starting etc !! so just left for now, rear tyre has about 3 months left on it, low oil, rear wiper blade, and back brakes binding. Got them to do brakes but the rest I can sort myself. Total cost £150. Did not fancy touching the back brakes as no experience with auto handbrake. Is this possible to do in your own garage i.e change back brakes ?
If you have not got it sorted they are true to their word. Overall well pleased with the service.

Hi my Scenic if experiencing the same problem with the dash!

Did Renault manage to put your mileage back to what it was, or did they reset it to zero?

Cheers Matt

Hi Matt
No the mileage was put at Zero. I have commented on another page on this site stating they said they could not do it. I have been told that garages offer a service and can be found in many motoring magazines to put the miles back on but not sure how legal it is .
