2001 Renault Scenic squeeling sound loss of power

my scenic has a sqeeling sound i have had a new fan belt fitted and adjusted,as after having it fitted i still had a noise so had it adjusted ,however,it still sqeels or screeches on and off,when the sqeel is present it has a short loss of power,until the squeel stops ( a few seconds) then the power is fully back...any ides...

Might be worthwhile getting alternator checked / tested for output , bearings .

it turned out to be the cam belt and water pump pulley or something all sorted now...not sure about loss of power though may still have this problem....but i think this may be the coil pack as a i had 1 changed a few months ago and now i understand i should of done all 4 as they will susequently go 1 by 1....ive also read this is a common fault or rather design fault on cenic 1998 model to 2003 model,and renault with enough fuss made will replace these free of charge...heres hoping she says....so ive now contacted renault and i await to hear if they will do this....i might be hoping for a bit too much....but after todays garage bill i really am hoping....
