2001 Renault Scenic engine will not start

The car was going fine, dropped my wife at the hospital (she broke a finger in the car door) came out and the car would not start! towed home. Car has been code read, no faults battery fully charged, seems like no fuel is bing pushed around after opening an injector, is there a fuel pump on this model also is ther a fuel relay? my local dealer reckons not but they have been known to rip people off, Please help

hi,unusual for a diesel to have an electric pump,has the cambelt broken or if fitted an injector pump belt

hi and thanks for replying, no the cam belt is fine and there is no belt for the pump.

hi,difficult to diagnose without seeing car,unless someone on this site can help suggest try yellow pages for a diesel specialist or ask a mechanic at local main dealer who would like a private job for cash

get yourself a can of easy start and squirt some up the air intake i had this problem years ago and it worked only thing is the car becomes addicted to it and wont start without it,if used for a while.also get tha egr sensor checked good luck.

possible dirty TDC sensor. google TDC sensor for locate and clean instructions. i had the same problem and cleaned the TDC sensor, it now starts first time every time. it's a 10 minute job and could save you £'s
