2000 Renault Scenic engine noise

Hard to diagnose from info . but if engine struggling , common fault is coil packs which can cause engine to misfire / lose power .Could be other causes also , like plugs etc.etc.

thanks for your advice - i replaced two of the injection coils a couple of months ago whch had blew and the car has been driving as new since then up to a couple of days ago.

I would be reluctant to think that it is the same problem again and first time round there was no noise from the engine just a juddering a loss of power.

This new problem is hard to describe but as I said its a load noise when my foot is on the accelerator - sounds a bit like something flpping in the wind or trying to spin - sorry I cant be more specific its hard to describe - any further ideas??

From what you say , it seems different symptoms from the time you had to replace two of the four coils .It could possibly be a manifold gasket or leak at exhaust front pipe at flange which tends to get worse with movement of engine on acclerating .If you go into to any fast fit centre , they will give car a free check and confirm /eliminate that . Without hearing it , hard to suggest what else it could be .
