2004 Renault Scenic injector fault

Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.5 MPC
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I try and put the power on while travelling more than 60mph my car cuts out with an INJECTOR FAULT msg on the dash. After stopping the car will start ok and get back up to 55-60mph before this happens again. If I steadily apply power it will usually get back to 60-65mph and I can stick to this speed but if I try putting the power back on it cuts again. The car will get up to between 70-75mph if I dont put my foot down but this can take a while and I'm helped on by going down hills.

I took the car to a Renault garage and the problem didnt come up, 6 others did and they were cleared but my problem remained.

I had this fault; it was excessive return leakage from one or more of the injectors, which causes a pressure drop in the common rail during heavy loading, such as high speed, acceleration, climbing hills, etc. Remove the plastic return pipes from the injectors output return and place 4 long lengths of plastic pipe on to the injector output return; place the pipe ends into 4 separate jam jars start the engine and monitor the return flow; after a short time check the level in the jam jars; the offending injector will have a lot more return fuel in it’s jar then the others. Replace the offending injector this should cure your problem.
