2006 Renault Scenic not starting

Car wouldn not start this morning, was getting error message saying parking brake locked...and then when tryig to start it would say turn steering wheel and press start which I have never had to do before...either way it was not locked and still would not start. I could not lock the car, the alarm went off for a few secs and now everything had died completely. Any ideas anyone? Only had the car a few months and it seems like 1 problem after another!

Is the battery o.k .? Is the engine turning over ? If not try a jump start .
