1998 Renault Scenic car not starting

car has been fine went to the car yesterday morning wont start, turn the ignition on dash lights go out but the imobiliser light flashes fast dont understand as the car has not shown any problems also the fuel pump sound when you turn the ignition sounds as normal but after a couple of turns on the ignition does not until take earth off the batery for 30 secs to reset itself then turn ignition again fuel pump sound normal again until turn ignition on off a few times then not, spoke to renault could be key issue,also done some research could be fuel pump relay or diode on alternater but done test on battery seems fine any ideas welcome

I had scenic Mk1 1.6 R reg, I tryed to lock it one day and it would not lock then I tryed to start it nothing. It turned out to be the immobiliser endid up in the scrapys Auto sparky spent a day on it with a computer he gave up in the end.
I hop it`s not that, "knightmare" a common prob, Im told it can happen to new cars as well.

Hi i'm new to this forum, but i seem to have the same problem and wonder if anyone can help... i had my fuel pump, sender unit & filter replaced then the car would start no more

try cleaning TDC sensor. i had a similar problem and this fixed it. it's a 10 minute job and could save you £'s
