Had to jump start the car with jump leads due to a flat battery. Since then both headlights stopped working. Main beam works fine. Fuses under the bonnet checked & all are ok.

Thats my next job. All ready checked the fuses & they all ok. I just thought it surprising that both had blown at the same time

I have seen bulb filaments blowing when jump starting quite a few times

Ive checked the drivers side headlamp bulb which looks ok. I have no sidelights on either side too but main beam works on both sides. Could it be anything to do with the sensor at the top of the windscreen?

I guess the sensor is for auto headlights . If so , you usually can switch off and use manually . The only fuse box schematic I have may / may not apply to your car but there are quite a few fuses in different locations it would seem . You should have tested the bulb with a couple of wires on the battery when you had it out .
